Stanley Hagler N.Y.C. designs by Mark Mercy since 1979
Stanley Hagler started his career in the 1950's, on a dare. His friend said he wasn't capable of designing jewelry. Hagler said he would design something fit for a Queen to wear. His first piece went to a Duchess. That was just the start.
Stanley Hagler worked as a one man operation until 1979 when he offered Mark Mercy an apprentice position with his company. He trained Mark in all of the business aspects, as well as, the finer points of his designing. Mark took to designing and began contributing to the Stanley Hagler N.Y.C. jewelry lines.
Stanley Hagler and Mark Mercy worked together in NYC until 1983 when they moved to Florida. This is when Stanley Hagler changed the name label to include the N.Y.C. at the bottom. Before, having just the Stanley Hagler, on an oval disc.
Mark Mercy continued to design with Stanley Hagler until Mr. Hagler's death in 1996. Mark continues to design Stanley Hagler N.Y.C. jewelry today. He retains all legal rights to use the Stanley Hagler N.Y.C. name on his jewelry.
